How to Find a Rolling Metric?

A rolling metric is one that calculates trends over short periods of time using a set of data. Rolling metrics help identify trends that are otherwise difficult to detect. For example, the data we have may include many instances where the values oscillate up and down drastically, and we might not be able to see if it trends up or down over time.
